Flame retardant and polyurethane duvets are manufactured using FR "PROBAN" fabric, which is tested to ensure it complies with British Standard (BS) 7175 1989 Section 3, after 50 washes at 74'c. Our duvets and other FR bedding products, be it cotton or polyester, gain their flame retardant properties through a quality controlled process called Proban. This process means that our products are treated with a chemical that allows the fabric to form an insulating char when exposed to flames, thus protecting the fabric and providing a completely reliable flame retardant performance. A synthetic polyurethane overlayer is then added to provide waterproof capabilities. Proban fabric products such as ours are usable in industrial, institutional and retail environments due to the fact that they are in accordance with industry fire regulations.
Our Duvets are filled with 100% Polyester Hollowfibre, which generally have a rough feel. However, our duvets are specially treated to give them a luxurious and soft feel, ensuring that our bedding products are both light and extremely comfortable.
